Mumbai television actor Raja Chaudhary was arrested for allegedly assaulting his former wife and the Bigg Boss winner Shweta Tiwari, police said recently.
Chaudhary, on the run after beating up his ex-wife, was picked up from his area recently, police said, adding that later he was produced before a local court that granted him bail. According to police, Chaudhary barged into Shweta’s house in Shiv Shakti society in suburban Mumbai one afternoon, and assaulted her and her friend Abhinav Kohli.
Tiwari, the first woman to win in the reality show Bigg Boss, lodged a complaint on the same day, police said. “Chaudhary was booked for assaulting his wife and her friend, trespassing into the house, and abusing the duo,” said R D Prabhu, Senior Inspector at Malad police station.
After Shweta lodged the complaint, he could not be traced. Chaudhary was later produced before a local court that first remanded him to judicial custody. “Later, he applied for bail. He was granted cash-bail of Rs 20,000 by the court,” Prabhu said.
